Hello and welcome to 5th grade at
St. Catherine of Alexandria.
My name is Mrs. Kathi Leen and I teach:
5th grade English/writing, Social Studies, Vocabulary
6th grade English
I have been at SCA since 2019, where I started teaching in the  4th grade. Prior to that I taught in the Public school system for several years. I started teaching in the 90's but took some time off to raise my 3 children.
For the last 4 years, I have been organizing the after school program called Beyond the Books where students can come and have fun being creative, meeting new friends, and developing interests.
My teaching philosophy is to understand all students learn differently but still should have high expectations for education. I believe in tailoring the curriculum to meet the students' needs. Growth mindset and social and emotional learning is a priority to help shape a child's life/future. 
It is important to work with families to insure the child will be successful.
