Homework

Each week, I will be posting any homework, tests, quizzes or projects on the homework tab.  I will also be posting any of this schoolwork on your child's Google Classroom pages.

March 18th-22nd


Reading:
On Tuesday, the students will complete an in class Scholastic assignment:  Next Stop, Mars!

Due Thursday, the students need to complete the Scholastic assignment:  Marching for Change.  A copy of this assignment is posted on Google Classroom.


Science: 

On Monday, both groups will finish the Wavelength and Amplitude skills sheet during class.

On Monday, students need to reread the Wavelength and Amplitude science content packet. 

On Tuesday, students will answer in class questions from our Wavelength and Amplitude unit.  Students will be able to use their packet during class to help answer the questions.

On Thursday, the students will complete a sheet with their science video on Waves during class.


Social Studies:

On Monday:  Miss Bracamontes' students will finish the Southwest States sheet.

On Tuesday, my homeroom will complete the in class Women's Suffrage assignment.  Miss Bracamontes' students will complete the same in class assignment on Friday.

Study for Wednesday's Southwest United States test.  A study guide was sent home and a copy is available on Google Classroom. 


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Complete the Unit 12 Workbook Pages 134-137.  The student's vocabulary books will be collected on Tuesday.  One of the pages will be graded and the other pages will be corrected during class.  Copies of all the pages are posted on Google Classroom.

Study for Friday's Unit 13 Vocabulary test.  Notes to help study for the synonyms and antonyms are posted on Google Classroom.

March 11th-15th 


Reading:
On Tuesday, you will be completing in class questions from your short story:  "The Moon Over Star."

On Wednesday, the students will be completing their Reading test:  "The Moon Over Star."  A study guide was posted on Google Classroom.  These are the notes that we completed during class.


Science: 

Due Thursday:  Complete the Waves All Around Informational Text Questions.  A copy of this assignment is posted on Google Classroom.

Due Friday:  Complete the in class assignment:  Independent Skills Sheet:  Wavelength and Amplitude.


Social Studies:

Due Tuesday:  Complete the ReadWorks assignment:  Power and Cherokee Women.  A copy of this assignment is posted on Google Classroom.

On Thursday, my homeroom will complete the Southwest State and Description assignment.  On Friday, Miss Bracamontes class will complete the same assignment.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Tuesday:  Complete the Unit 13 Spelling Pyramid Sheet.  

Due Wednesday:  Complete the U Sound Pattern Spelling Sheet.

March 4th - 8th 

Reading:
Due Thursday:  Complete the How Technology Helps You In Your Life assignment.  A copy of this assignment is posted on Google Classroom.

Science: 

There will be two science grades this week.

The students will be completing in class questions on Monday from their unit:  Motion of Waves.  Students will be able to use any notes to help complete their questions.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the students will be completing a science lab:  Disturbing Water.  

There will be no homework assignments this week.


Social Studies:

Mr. Mohr's class - Due Wednesday - Complete the Southwest Region Assignment.  The same assignment will be due on Thursday for Miss Bracamontes class.  A copy of this assignment is posted on Google Classroom.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Tuesday:  Complete the Unit 12 Workbook Pages 122-125.  The student's vocabulary books will be collected on Tuesday.  One of the pages will be graded and the other pages will be corrected during class.  Copies of all the pages are posted on Google Classroom.

Reading:
Due on Thursday:  Complete the Birthplace of American Democracy questions.  A copy of this assignment can be found on Google Classroom.

Planning ahead, the reading test on information from the short story:  "See How They Run" will be Wednesday, February 21st.  A study guide for the reading test will be posted to Google Classroom on Thursday of this week.

Science: 

There will be no homework assigned this week, but the students will have two in class grades.

On Monday, the students will complete the Scholastic sheet:  Shout Out the Facts.

On Tuesday and Wednesday,  the students will complete the Scholastic sheet:  Think Like An Inventor!


Social Studies:

Complete the ReadWorks assignment:  U.S. Presidents:  Abraham Lincoln.  - Due Wednesday for Mr. Mohr's S.S. class and due Thursday for Miss Bracamontes' class.  A copy of this assignment is on Google Classroom.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due on Tuesday:  Complete pages 114-115 (completing the sentence and the word association questions) from Unit 11.  I will select one of two pages for a grade and the other page will be corrected during class.  I will return the student's vocabulary books on Wednesday.

Planning ahead, the Unit 11 Vocabulary test will be Thursday, February 22nd.

Reading:
Due on Tuesday:  Complete The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway! Informational Text questions.  A copy of these questions has been posted on Google Classroom.


Science: 

Study for Thursday's quiz on our current unit:  Transfer of Energy in Collisions.  A study guide has been posted on Google Classroom. 


Social Studies:

There will be no homework this week to help concentrate on studying for the tests and quizzes.

Students will have two in class grades. 

On Monday, the students will be labeling The Midwestern States on a map.

On Thursday, my homeroom will complete the the Midwestern Capitals assignment.  Miss Bracamontes students will be completing this assignment on Friday.

Due on Tuesday:  Complete the Spelling 3x each sheet.  A copy of this assignment is on Google Classroom.

Reading:

Due Tuesday:  Complete the Crater Creations Informational Text questions.  A copy of these questions has been posted on Google Classroom.


Social Studies:

On Monday, the students will complete the Northeast Region questions sheet during class.

Last Thursday, a study guide was posted on the social studies Google Classroom page for our Northeast test.  This test will be Thursday, February 1st.  This gave the students one week to review and study for their test.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due on Tuesday:  Complete Vocabulary workbook pages 103-105.  I will select one of there three pages for a grade and the other two pages will be corrected during class.

Study for Friday's Unit 10 Vocabulary test.

Reading:
Study information for Wednesday's reading test from the short story:  "Delivering Justice:  W.W. Law and the Fight for Civil Rights."  A study guide was sent home last Friday and is also posted on the reading Google Classroom page page.


Science: 

Due Thursday:  Complete the skills sheet from the transfer of energy in collision unit.  A copy is posted on the science Google Classroom page.


Social Studies:

Due Tuesday, complete the Favorite Activity in the Northeast assignment.  A copy of this assignment has been posted on the social studies Google Classroom page.  An organizer will be sent home in class.

On Thursday, a study guide will be posted on the social studies Google Classroom page for our Northeast test.  This test will be Thursday, February 1st.  This will give the students one week to review and study for their test.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due on Wednesday, complete the spelling 3x each sheet and spelling pattern (soft c and soft g) sheet.

Study for Friday's spelling test.

Reading:
Due Thursday:  Complete the How One Person Can Make a Difference assignment.  Students will be assigned this on Tuesday and be given two days to complete it.  This is to help balance schoolwork and time needed to study for tests.


Science: 

Study for Thursday's Science test on our unit:  Energy Transfer and Electric Currents.  All notes for the science study guide and a copy of the content packet are available on the Science Google Classroom page.


Social Studies:

All schoolwork for this week will be completed in class to help give more time for schoolwork in other subjects and studying for tests.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Study for Friday's Unit 9 Vocabulary test.

Due on Tuesday:  Complete the Renewable and Nonrenewable Concept assignment.  This assignment is also posted on Google Classroom.

On Tuesday - Thursday, the students will also be completing a science lab on the uses of energy.

November 13th-17th

Science:

Due on Thursday, please complete the skills sheet for our current unit:  Plate Tectonics.   The assignment will be passed out during class and a copy of this assignment is available on Google Classroom.


Social Studies:

This week, we will be finishing our presentations focusing on if you were running for the 4th grade president.  

Please see the rubric posted on Google Classroom for how your presentation will be graded.  A paper copy has also been passed out during class.

Reading:


Due on Thursday, please complete your Bison Informational Text assignment.  Students will receive a paper copy of this assignment in class and there is also a copy of this assignment on Google Classroom.


Science:

Your science take home test will be due on Tuesday, October 31st.  All notes are posted on Google Classroom.  Copies of your content packet are also posted on Google Classroom in case anyone forgets their packet or cannot get on STEMscopes.


Social Studies:

This week, we will be having presentations focusing on if you were running for the 4th grade president.  Miss Bracamontes' students have S.S. class on Wednesday and Friday this week, while my students have S.S. class on Wednesday and Thursday.  If you do not present this week, you will be presenting next week.

Please see the rubric posted on Google Classroom for how your presentation will be graded.  A paper copy will also be passed out during class.

Due on Friday:  Campaign Speech Notes - Running for 4th Grade President.  - More information can be found posted on Google Classroom.  Time will be set aside to help the students work on this during class.  Any work not completed will need to be done for homework.

Social Studies:

On Monday, students will read a Branches of Government sheet and pass out questions during class. 

We will also begin a S.S. project later in the week in place of a test/quiz for our Branches of Government packet.  Details will be posted to Google Classroom for Friday, October 20th.

Reading:

Science:

There is no homework this week.  We are beginning a new unit on rock layers.  There will be two grades this week - both done in class.  On Tuesday, the students will complete a preview and predict assignment.  On Thursday and Friday, the students will complete a rock layers lab.


Social Studies:

There will be no homework scheduled this week.  Students will receive a grade completing their presidential journal entry.  My homeroom will complete the journal on Tuesday, and Miss Bracamontes' students will complete it on Friday.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Thursday:  Complete the Unit 4 Spelling pyramid and the 3x each assignment.  Study for Friday's Unit 4 Spelling test.

Science:

Study for Wednesday's science test on the unit:  Plant and Animal Parts.  The definitions as well as adaptation and description notes were passed out during Friday's class.  The notes from the content packet will be passed out tomorrow.  All copies of the notes can be found on your child's science Google Classroom page.  Study these notes for your test.

On Thursday, we will be completing the science lab:  "What's That Smell?"  The science lab is not homework.


Social Studies:

(Room 214) - Due Wednesday: Complete the Three Branches of Government sheet (found in your S.S. packet).  (Room 213) will complete the same sheet, which is due on Thursday.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Wednesday:  Complete your Unit 2 Spelling Pyramid and Rainbow sheets.  These sheets will be passed out during class.

Due Thursday:  Write out your Unit 2 Spelling words 3 each (see sheet passed out during class).  This assignment will be passed out during class.

Planning ahead, the science test on the unit:  Plant and Animal Parts will be Wednesday, September 13th.  Information on what to study will be gone over during Friday's class.


Social Studies:

Due Friday:  Complete your own country project.  The sheets for this project will be passed out during class.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Thursday:  Finish from class pgs. 12-13 in your Vocabulary book.  Time will be given in school to also work on this assignment.

Reading:


Due Wednesday:  Complete the Skills Sheet:  Types of Sentences

On Wednesday, September 6th there will be a reading test on the short story:  Earthquakes.  The students will need to reread the story.  We will also take some specific notes to help prepare for the reading test.


Science:

On Thursday, the students will be asked to read their content packet from our unit:  Plant and Animal Parts.


Social Studies:

Due Tuesday:  Complete the Presidential Duties assignment.


Spelling/Vocabulary:

Due Wednesday:  Complete the Spelling Pyramid and Spelling Rainbow sheets. 

There will be a Unit 1 Spelling test on Friday.  Students will need to study during the week to prepare for their test.
