Welcome!
My name is Laura Franks and I am very excited to be back as the Physical Education Teacher at St. Catherine of Alexandria for the 2020-2021 school year!
In the Alsip community I have been a gymnastics instructor for 15 years at the Alsip Park District. In addition to coaching gymnastics, I am also the Head Pool Manager and Swim Lesson Coordinator at the Alsip Sprayfari Aquatic Park during the summer. After graduating from Illinois State University I was the Physical Education teacher at Rosa Parks Middle School for 5 years. At Rosa Parks Middle School I taught swimming and physical education to grades 6-8 and was also a Botvin LifeSkills Instructor. During the 2016-2017 school year I taught physical education, fitness and health at Queen of Peace High School. In my spare time I enjoy working out, playing sports, walking my dog, and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to seeing each student achieve success through movement this year!
