News from Mrs. Mac!

For your information:

Last day for work submission for 8th grade (grade cut-off):
Monday, May 17th

Dear St. Catherine’s Families,

As many of you may know, I am expecting the birth of my second child this April. I will be beginning my maternity leave Monday, April 12th and will be on leave through the end of the school year. Teaching the 7th and 8th grade students in my absence will be Mrs. Chris McElroy. Mrs. McElroy is a retired Archdiocesan teacher with experience teaching junior high who also covered my first leave last year; thus, many of the students are already familiar with her. Mrs. McElroy is looking forward to working with your child to achieve his/her highest potential.  She plans on using a variety of teaching strategies to create an engaging learning environment.  I have been working with Mrs. McElroy to ensure the students have a smooth transition.

In regards to routines and classroom procedures, Mrs. McElroy will continue to follow the same procedures we have established thus far in the classroom. Lessons will be on Google Classroom, so if your student is absent for either a short or extended period of time, they should continue to check Google Classroom.  Additionally, any work I assign in the next couple weeks will need to be turned in before I begin my leave, as my instructional units will be done and Mrs. McElroy will be starting fresh and not responsible for entering late work from my lessons.

I would like to thank the families of St. Catherine for all of your support this year and during this upcoming transition. If you have any questions before I leave, please feel free to contact me. As soon as Mrs. McElroy begins her coverage here, you can reach her at

Please ensure your student is checking Google Classroom every day they are absent to obtain missing work. Students- if you need clarification on assignments, please be sure to reach out to your teachers as it is your responsibility to maintain your coursework.
Please note: all class notes, assignments, rubrics, and directions are posted on Google Classroom. If your child is absent for either a short or extended period of time, it is their responsibility to check Google Classroom for assignments.

Hello SCA Families! Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. Although many aspects of school look different this year, many things will remain the same such as our strong community of support, rigorous education, and positive energy in seeing our classmates and teachers. I look forward to teaching the 7th and 8th grade students and all the fun and excitement English class can bring by challenging students to express themselves through written concepts.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via
