Science Fair 2022 - 2023 - 8th Grade

During the school year, please refer to updates on Science Fair, which can be found on this weblog page as well as your Science Google Classroom page.

This weblog page will serve as a timeline for work being completed for science fair.

During class on Tuesday, October 11th, we took notes on how to form a research paper.  We also went over the guidelines for completing their Science Fair research (posted on the Science Google Classroom page).  The Science Fair research must be completed in the student's main Science Fair paper and will be due on Thursday, October 20th.  Each class received thirty minutes of class time where they could begin researching their Science Fair topic.

During class on Thursday, October 6th, the Science Fair Commitment and Research Question sheet was collected.  These sheets will be reviewed and discussed with the students on Tuesday, October 11th.

On Tuesday, October 4th, we continue to review sample research questions as well as Science Fair topics to avoid.  The Science Fair Commitment and Research Question sheet is due this Thursday.

On Monday, October 3rd, we reviewed the ScienceBuddies website. We reviewed sample research questions as well as topics to avoid.

On Thursday, September 29th, the Science Fair Commitment and Research Question sheet was passed out during class and reviewed on Google Classroom.  During class, we reviewed the ScienceBuddies website.  I introduced the Science Fair topic wizard where students can find ideas for their Science Fair.  The Science Fair Commitment and Research Question Sheet will be due on Thursday, October 6th.  On the sheet, please fill out if you are working with a partner, your grade, research question, sign the form, and have a parent sign the form as well.

On Google Classroom, we also reviewed the Science Fair 2022-2023 Information Sheets (overview of each step of Science Fair), introduced the IJAS Manual, and timeline (dates tba) of the Science Fair timeline.
