Welcome!

I am excited to continue working with your child during this 2020-2021 school year.  Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience.  However, I cannot do this without you, the parents.  We are partners in the learning process.

I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success.  Throughout the year I will communicate with emails, phone calls, report cards, Google Classroom, and webpage. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Classroom Expectations

Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child’s success, confidence, and well-being.  Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure;  free from all threats of physical and emotional harm.  In addition, it is important that each child continue to develop self-discipline and good work habits, to resolve conflict peacefully, and to think independently.  We will continue to implement the use of the Check Card/Incentive Card.  If there are immediate concerns I will reach out to you by phone or email.

Grading

Assignments, rubrics, and directions are posted on Google Classroom. If your child is absent for either a short or extended period of time, it is their responsibility to check Google Classroom for assignments.
If your child has a question about a given assignment they need to reach out to me BEFORE the assignment is due. This way, we can troubleshoot a solution.

Grade Weights:

Homework 10%

Participation 10%

Classwork 10%

Projects 25%

Tests 30%

Quizzes 15%

**Any late work is deducted 5 points for each day late. After the 2nd day late, the assignment will no longer be able to be turned in. Students that are absent are still expected to check Google Classroom and submit required work. However, for any extenuating circumstances, please reach out so that we can best accommodate your student and are aware of the situation.**
