The Year of Mercy
The extraordinary Year of Mercy, announced by Pope Francis, began on December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. As this Holy Year of Mercy begins, 32 parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago have been selected as pilgrimage sites, where the faithful can receive special indulgences/grace. St. Catherine’s has the honor of being chosen as a pilgrimage site. We will be most welcoming of visitors during the Holy Year of Mercy.
Holy Name Cathedral sealed its Jubilee Door on June 11th. St. Catherine’s sealed our Jubilee Door on December 5th. On Sunday, December 13th, we joined with the Churches around the world, by opening our Holy Door.
